Deceives the Whole World

Deception[1] is now a dominate force in our world. Truth is the rarity: lies, deception, falsehoods are the norm.

For example, lately I’ve been re-searching[2] my lifelong assumptions regarding the sun, the moon, and the place of the earth in the heavens.

We’ve been told the circumference of the earth is 40,075 km (24,901 mi)[3].

We’ve been told; “You might be surprised to know that a spot on the surface of the Earth is moving at 1675 km/h or 465 meters/second. That’s 1,040 miles/hour. Just think, for every second, you’re moving almost half a kilometer (one mile) through space, and you don’t even feel it.”[4]

Consequently, we are led to believe the earth makes one complete rotation on its axis every 24 hours traveling at a speed, as mentioned, of about 1,040 mph.

Let’s take a closer look at this hypothesis, shall we?

The distance between Los Angeles and New York is 2450 miles.

The latitude of Los Angeles is 34* N and for New York it is 40* N.

The flight time from Los Angeles to New York is roughly 5:40 minutes and is easily confirmed here.[5]

The flight time from New York to Los Angeles is also roughly 5:40 minutes and is easily confirmed here.[6]

The earth allegedly  rotates west to east.[7]

Latitude of LAX 34 + latitude of NY 40 = 74 / 2 = 37* latitude average. Earth’s alleged rotational speed at 37* latitude is 798 mph.

Applying these alleged "scientific facts" to a flight from New York (NY) to Los Angeles (LAX) traveling west,  the time of the flight should be reduced by the speed the earth (Los Angeles) is traveling eastward at approximately 798 miles per hour. 

(Calculus is not my strong suit, but calculus students can calculate the actual time a  flight from NY to LAX should take if the earth were indeed traveling east toward New York at 798 mph).

However,  the flight times going in both directions is officially stated on publicly available flight schedules to be the same – about 5 hours 40 minutes.

How can this be?

The answer is: it can’t be. Something is amiss.

That something is that the earth is not rotating at 1040 miles per hour at the equator through space.

The earth is, yep, you guessed it, stationary.

However, in writing this missive, I ran across this statement ....

“The ground feels firm and solid beneath your feet. Of course, the Earth is rotating, turning once on its axis every day. (cf:"Of course," at over 1000 mph) Fortunately gravity keeps you firmly attached to the planet, and because of momentum, you don’t feel the movement – the same way you don’t feel the speed of a car going down the highway.”[8]

With my newly acquired knowledge based upon my re-search, I took a closer look. 

Gravity "keeps me firmly attached to the planet?"
This secretive thing called gravity keeps objects attached to the planet?
Gravity is their answer for everything that doesn't pass the common sense test.
Gravity and Einstein's theory, mind you, it's just a theory, of relativity.
Which smells like male cow dung to me.

And did you catch this? “ – the same way you don’t feel the speed of car going down the highway.”

The author  of that statement (Fraser Cain) wants his readers to believe that one does not feel the speed of a car going down the highway? All one has to do to feel the speed of car going down the highway is stick his hand, or better yet, his head out the window.

Additionally, a body standing on the earth (which is, we are told  traveling at 1040 mph) is not protected from the resulting airflow like a person within a car would be.

Is a mere coincidence that this author's surname is Cain?

Given that I have believed this deception my entire life, it took a day or so to let this new paradigm sink in.

The new paradigm being: the solid earth  we live on is stationary.

Further, as additional research has shown me, the land mass we live on is not only stationary, but flat.

But a flat earth is a topic for another missive.

Up until about 500 years ago, the common held theory was the earth was stationary and flat. It was in the 1500s when the Copernican model - heliocentrism - began to replace the geocentric model of the earth.

However, Scripture is full of evidence in support of a non-moving, firmly fixed earth:

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”

Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”

Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”

Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”

Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”

One of the most important ancient documents describing Hebrew cosmology is 1 Enoch. The Book of Enoch, particularly the chapter titled "The Book of the Courses of the Heavenly Luminaries."  I Enoch Section III, (Chapters lxxii-lxxxii), describes the natural world. 

Does Enoch support the view that the earth is stationary and flat?

Perhaps the Book of Enoch, with its descriptions of the natural world, provides answers to these questions?
